Catholic Charities agencies in Central Washington (Yakima, Klickitat, Benton, Grant, Douglas, Chelan, and Kittitas Counties) provide services to nearly 51,000 people each year without regard to national origin, income, or religious beliefs. Of those, 57% are under the age of 18, 35% are adults (18-64), and 8% are seniors (65+). Catholic Charities is the Diocese of Yakima's professional and charitable outreach, which puts our faith and love of neighbor into action through a variety of services that embody our commitment to daily express our Mission Statement:

"Motivated by Christ's love, we bring hope to life, expeically for those most in need."

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Yakima partners with over 3000 volunteers who logged over 62,500 hours of service in 2013.  As portrayed in the agency's logo Catholic Charities is made up of three major organizations:

The network of 9 Catholic Family & Child Service (CFCS) offices in Yakima, Moses Lake, Pasco, Richland, and Wenatchee serve over 38,000 persons annually.  Whether nurturing children in child care, supporting families through specialized mental health services, or assisting seniors so they can remain living independently, CFCS fulfills the Church’s role in the mission of charity by providing compassionate, competent, professional services that strengthen and support individuals, families and communities.

Catholic Charities Housing Services (CCHS) provides affordable housing options to meet the continuum of housing needs in the communities we serve throughout the Diocese. Working with local parishes, community groups and others sponsors, CCHS develops, owns and manages a variety of housing developments that serve low-income, vulnerable and underserved populations. These include workforce, senior and special needs housing, and single-family homeownership. In addition to housing, CCHS provides a service-enriched living environment where education, self-empowerment and self-sufficiency are promoted to benefit over 3,000 residents living in fifteen communities.

St. Vincent Centers (SVC)
provides assistance to thousands of friends and neighbors each year through its three thrift stores, emergency services programs and food bank. The assistance provided offers crisis relief to those facing hardship by providing clothing, household items, food and shelter through three locations: Union Gap, Kennewick and Ellensburg.  Of these, the Union Gap store is a unique multi-service location offering a Food Bank as well as an Emergency Services division.  All locations offer a ‘material assistance’ program to provide items at no charge for those who are most in need.
