First Steps Maternity Services helps ensure good prenatal care and the delivery of a healthy baby.

First Steps is a FREE program designed to provide low-income pregnant women with the health and social services needed to help ensure the delivery of a healthy baby. All women who qualify for DSHS Medical Benefits are eligible for First Steps services. Our team of skilled professionals includes a nurse, counselor, social worker, nutritionist and infant case manager, who see you at home or in our office to provide care and support during and after your pregnancy.

 


We encourage you to access First Steps services, which include:

Free pregnancy tests available at both the Richland and Pasco locations

Assistance with medical coupon applications

Teen pregnancy and parenting assistance

Free referrals in finding community services to meet your needs

Obtaining transportation to your doctor appointments

Payments of childcare while you are at your doctor appointments,
on bed rest and during labor/delivery

Risk factor identification and intervention

Mobile team visits you at any location you choose (school, home, work, etc.)

Learn & Earn program in conjuction with Your Options Maternity Boutique

We also offer support and referrals to anyone needing maternity information.
