Adoption Support Services

Welcome to "Adoptive Families Together", the adoption supoort services of Catholic Family & Child Services. We bring hope to life in Central Washington by reaching out to people of all ages, faiths, ethnic backgrounds, and income levels with programs aimed at strengthening the family and building upon individual strengths.

As an adoptive parent, have you:

	wondered how you will discuss adoption with your child?
	worried how to respond to your child's questions about his or her birth parents?
	struggled with ways to celebrate your child's heritage?
	felt you might need help dealing with your child's special emotional or physical needs?

"Adoptive Families Together" celebrates the uniqueness of adoptive families. We offer support and encouragement as you navigate through your child's development and any special needs that may arise. Our goal is to help parents build strong foundations for their families and to create networks of support in their communities. Even the strongest families experience "bumps in the road." Our staff specializes and is knowledgeable about adoption issues. We can connect you with other adoptive families and with resources which will help you in your lifelong journey of adoption.

On-Going Support: Adoptive Families Together provides: Adoption trainings. Lending library of books, videos, and other material on adoptions. Social Gatherings for adoptive families. Support and education groups. Web site with adoption resources and an e-mail directory of other adoptive families. .

Our staff is sensitive and trained to offer support to all adoptive families including those who have adopted through open, transracial/transcultural, and special needs foster-adoption. We also have experience providing support to families where the children are being parented by relatives. If you're living in an isolated area, we can put you in touch with informationd and support through our web site, bimonthly newsletter, and lending library of adoption materials which can be mailed free of charge.
