Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy treats adolescents displaying symptoms of depression, self-harm and suicidal tendencies.

Adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a program specifically designed to meet the needs of adolescents, between 14-18 years of age, who are impulsive and struggle with emotion management. DBT is a method of therapy that specializes in working with clients to decrease suicidal behavior/ hospitalizations and increase life-skill acquisition.

Skills group

 

Individual “coaching” sessions

 

Telephone consultation with mental health therapist

 

Parent information group


 

 

Goals for DBT participants include:

Create a life worth living

Increase skills in emotion management, interpersonal relationships, and handling stress

Decrease suicidal or self-harm behaviors

Decrease inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations
